After a hiatus of three years imposed by the pandemic, Colonial Day will be held on September 30, 2023 on the DeWint House Grounds from noon until 4PM.
Demonstrators will include a blacksmith, a sheep shearer, a woodworker, colonial dancers, fifes and drums, the Hudson Valley Quilters, tarot card reader, and cooking demonstration in the DeWint House kitchen. The Carriage House Museum will be open for tours.
Craft activities are candle dipping, making Aussie mussies and mob caps, stenciling, writing with quill pen, and cider pressing.
A refreshment table will offer hot dogs, apples, donuts, cookies, popcorn, water, and soda.
Admission is free but tickets are required for the craft activities.Volunteers are needed for help with parking, refreshments, and supervising the craft activities. If you can help out for an hour or two, please contact us at admin at tappantown.org or call 845-359-1923.
